A shared passion for wine led Margaret and David Bell on grape picking forays into Southwest Michigan while dating, followed by grape growing and landscaping in their suburban Chicago backyard, and annual picking vacations to Northern Michigan. Their love of a perfect wine culminated in the purchase of an abandoned 50-acre farm in Lake Leelanau, in a region where Margaret’s family has deep roots. On this scenic hillside, the owners cultivated the land by hand, slowly adding vines and carefully honing their art until, years later, Circa Estate Winery has carved a niche into the local winemaking industry.

From the vineyard to the wine to the tasting room, the Bells have taken great pride and passion in cultivating a viticultural experience that is as elegant as it is inviting. Circa is truly a one-of-a-kind destination, nestled in the heart of Northern Michigan’s wine country.
